Gregg Thomas Makepeace, Jr.
November 10, 1958 - September 10, 2021
Gregg Thomas Makepeace Jr., 62, of Aliso Viejo, CA, passed away on September 10, 2021. He is survived by his wife, Michele; his children Timothy, Caroline, and Sarah; his parents, Gregg Sr. and Bonnie; and his brothers Brian and Darryl. He is also survived by friends who he considered family: Jim, Julie and Emily Schoen; Ray and Melissa Stevens; Dave and Meredith Williams; and countless others.
Gregg was born on November 10, 1958 and lived all over the country throughout his childhood, settling in Orange County, CA. He was an avid writer and a lover of music, traveling, and Blanton’s Bourbon. Gregg was a dedicated sports fan and cheered for the Los Angeles Angels, the Los Angeles Lakers, and the Michigan Wolverines.
Gregg was the heart, soul, and song of the Makepeace family. He was a devoted husband to his wife of 39 years and a dedicated father to his three children. He was actively involved in his community, including his time coaching the Aliso Viejo Christian School girls’ basketball team. Gregg was also a longtime supporter of the Laguna Hills High School cheerleading, football, & lacrosse teams, attending nearly all home and away games while his daughters attended LHHS.
Gregg loved and cherished the companionship of Brando and Maisy, the Makepeace family dogs. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Lovebugs Rescue, the foster-based animal rescue Brando and Maisy were adopted from.
Gregg made friends from every walk of life including his Tustin Tillers teammates, Mervyn’s coworkers, Siemens coworkers, and Blackbird Lane neighbors. After spending part of his childhood in Hawaii, Gregg developed an affinity for the islands and visited his “second home” often.
